Each photo sold on Shootsurf brings money to the person who uploaded it.
[more on commissions]
Shootsurf takes a commission on all sales and pays the remainder to the photographers.
When uploading a photo you assign two prices; one for personal use, one for professional use.
If a user buys multiple photos from a same album, she is entitled to a discount.
During the entire Beta version period, Shootsurf will NOT TAKE any commission.
Therefore, for any photo sold during that time, the entire price will be given to the photographer.
When the Beta version period is over (vhen the beta sign will have disappeared from the home page), Shootsurf will start taking a commission on sales.
This commission has a standard rate that decreases if the photographer sells lots of photos.
The more photos sold by a photographer, the lower the commission.
Each month, we evaluate the total sales made by a photographer.
If this sales amount, after deduction of the commission, exceeds 30 euros, then the photographer will receive payment from Shootsurf. If not, the amount will be passed on to the next month.
The photographer can choose the payment mode for its payments in its profile interface.
If the photographer has a French address and chooses to be paid by cheque, we deduct X euros for mailing fees.
If the photographer has a foreign address and chooses to be paid by cheque, we deduct X euros for mailing fees + bank fees.
If the photographer chooses to be paid by Paypal, we deduct X euros amounting to Paypal's commission.
When uploading photos, the photographer chooses two prices for each photo:
Photo prices can be modified by the photographer as long as the album hasn't been published.
When a user buys more than one photo from the same "upload" album, she is entitled to a discount.
The more photo she buys (from the same album), the greater the discount.
This enables photographers to sell photos that wouldn't have been sold with the "normal" price considering the user already buys a somewhat similar photo (same surf session, same place...)
